NLRC Sring 2019 Internship

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a great holiday season in company of family and friends. The NLRC has been very busy preparing for exciting new research and education projects, including Census 2020 outreach.

As we prepare to start a new semester, we want to share with you our flyer with the dates and times of our upcoming INTERNSHIP orientations and training with the National Latino Research Center. We hope you will share it with your students and colleagues.

Some important dates to keep in mind:

Internship Orientation is Thursday, January 31 from 12 to 1pm in SBSB 2140.

Internship Orientation is Thursday, February 7 from 12 to 1pm in SBSB 2140.

The New Internship Training is on Saturday, February 9 from 10-2pm, but attend an orientation prior to attending the training.

Interns receive hands on experience with research, community work, along receiving with training on cultural sensitivity and ethics in research.

If you would like to have NLRC host service learning students, 3 hours per week is a realistic number in terms of the community efforts that we could offer your students.

If you want me or another NLRC team member to visit your class, please let me know. Also, if you want to work closely with us on aspects of your class - service learning or guest lecturers - please contact us soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions and share this opportunity with others.

Thank you!
