Cesar Chavez Day of Action

Our team at Universidad Popular is pleased to inform you that we have been selected as one of the community-based organizations that will be part of the César Chávez Day of Service in collaboration with the Service Learning and Community Engagement Office at California State University San Marcos. Our goal is to remember and honor the life and legacy of civil rights activist César Chávez for a Day of Service. He was the co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union and pioneer in the struggles for fair wages and humane working conditions for farmworkers and their families. Chávez is revered as one of the greatest human rights leaders.

We are convening youth and families from the neighborhoods around Autumn, Pico, Richmar, Mission, and San Marcos Blvd, the area around San Marcos Elementary School to participate in a Community Clean Up. The event will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11am to 4pm. We will gather at Universidad Popular, Suite 115, 261 Autumn Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069.

We are asking for donations such as trash bags, gloves, first aid kits, water, and trash pickers. Donations can be dropped off at Universidad Popular office. (261 Autumn Drive Suite 115, San Marcos, CA 92069)
