We are proud to invite you to our Celebrando Liderazgo Dinner 2017, a night in which we celebrate the contributions and achievements to civic participation and community service of Latino and Latina residents of North San Diego County who are participants of Universidad Popular – Cultivando Liderazgo.
Universidad Popular – Cultivando Liderazgo (Nurturing Leadership) is an initiative by the National Latino Research Center (NLRC) at California State University San Marcos and funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) that offers educational seminars to boost civic engagement in Latino communities. CNCS is keen to learn more about the work of the NLRC and our innovative approaches to community outreach, education and research.
On this night, we honor hundreds of community leaders, who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to civic engagement and community service. They volunteered thousands of hours helping people in schools, libraries, community centers, churches, food banks, senior centers, jails and prisons, and community gardens.
